The 2024 Understanding China International Conference is held in Guangzhou from Dec. 2 to Dec. 4. During the conference, Wang Wen, Dean of Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at Renmin University of China , highlighted key challenges globalization will face in the coming years, particularly the threat of tech hegemony in the era of AI. He warned that with the advent of AI, algorithms have caused global disparities and imbalance in the field of technology, leading to only a few multinational tech titans having control the flow of information and the shaping of ideas worldwide.
